Colorful Fishtail
Here's a really cool tutorial on how to do a colorful fishtail. A few posts ago I put up a picture of Leighton Meester with a really cool hairstyle and I'm pretty sure it's part fishtail braid, but I still don't know how to finish it.

As if you needed another reason to do your hair
Isaiah Mustafa (The Old Spice guy) said in an interview to Julia Rancic that he's looking for a girl with "good hair" among other things like athleticism and honesty, but I mean good hair is so much easier to achieve (most of the time). You can read about in the Huffington Post.

Thursday!!
Thursday is my favorite day of the week. My favorite show, Parks and Recreation is on. I have a friend that swears Ann Perkins (real life Rashida Jones) has the best bangs ever. So much so that she took a picture to her hair dresser and said "I want Ann Perkin bangs."
Happy Thursday and have a great hair day!

Hair Growth
So once my hair gets to a certain point I swear it refuses to grow anymore. So I did some research on hair growth and once I sorted through the advertisements for balding men I found some tips. Some of these include:drinking lots of water, take a Biotin supplement, argan oil, coconut oil, almond oil, massaging your scalp, among other things. So Saturday the sister and I are doing some casual shopping at TJ's when I come across conditioner with argan oil and a biotin supplement. It's like TJ Maxx was reading my mind!! Or as my roommate would say (anytime of the year) "It's a Christmas miracle!" So I bought both of those and also went to the Vitamin Shoppe and got myself some almond oil. So I've been taking the Biotin supplement, using the conditioner (I'll do a review), and put some almond oil in my hair. I may have used a little too much almond oil because my hair was greasy but I think I've got it down now. I'll let you know in a few months if my hair looks like the brunette version of this:
Jokes. But seriously, hopefully my hair grows a little longer.
Have a great hair day!

The bigger the better
So a while back, I put up Ana Lee's tutorial on big waves. I don't do it very often because it takes so long but I did do it last night because I had some time to kill before going out. I was pretty happy with the results. It took 45 minutes and 12 clips so it definitely takes some patience. I think I made my curls a little too small but now I know for next time. Also, I went to Marshalls (Winners for my Canadian friends) and scored some awesome hair stuff I'll tell you about soon. It was a great hair day.

Product Review: Wen
Wen is a really expensive ($30 for 30 days) but supposedly wonderful hair care line. You can find more information about it here. It's created by Chaz Dean. If you watch Bravo as much as I do you know that Jeff Lewis from Flipping Out has designed his salons. But anyway.... the website has this to say...
WEN® Cleansing Conditioner is a revolutionary new concept in hair care. A 5-in-1 formula, this one product takes the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler and leave-in conditioner. It cleanses hair thoroughly but without lathering and all the harsh ingredients that may be found in ordinary shampoos—it is designed so it won't strip your hair and scalp of their natural oils. Your hair is left with sheen, moisture, manageability and better color retention.
My good friend Ashley has used it. She has curly hair and she says that after she started using Wen she lets her air dry and "it's not an afro" and she doesn't have to wash it every day anymore. Her mom has also started using it and she doesn't have to color her hair as often. If you dye your hair it makes spending the money more worthwhile.
It's also worth noting that once you purchase it once you automatically get billed and more product shipped. So be careful if you don't like it. The website also offers tons of reviews, mostly good but sprinkle with a few negative things. Overall, I would give it a try if I had more money to spare.
Have a great hair day!
